We are on the brink of Final Fantasy 14 Patch 7.1, aka “Crossroads.” If you’ve been keeping up with the Dawntrail expansion, this patch is going to drop some exciting new features, including a big housing upgrade and a fresh type of content that’ll keep you on your toes.
But before we dig into all the shiny new stuff, let’s just take a second to marvel at how far FF14 has come.
Remember that rough-as-sandpaper launch? It was like the game tripped right out of the gate. But now? FF14 has climbed the ranks to become one of the most beloved MMOs out there.
Shadowbringers drew in a whole crowd of new players, and Endwalker straight-up doubled the subscriber count (like, who does that?). Even though Dawntrail didn’t hit every story beat perfectly, the expansion’s content has kept people hooked. It’s clear—people just can’t quit FF14.
One of the community’s biggest obsessions right now is the Arcadion raid, especially that second boss, Honey B. Lovely.
I mean, come on, that name is a masterpiece on its own! While we’ll have to wait for Patch 7.2 to explore the next wing of Arcadion, 7.1 is bringing the first Alliance Raid for Dawntrail.
It’s called Echoes of Vana’diel, and it’s a total love letter to Final Fantasy 11. Any OG fans of the series? Yeah, this one’s for you.
The raid takes us back to Jeuno, and while nostalgia is great, that’s just one piece of the Crossroads pie.
For the release, We’re talking either November 12 or 19 (depends on whether the devs feel like giving us a little more time to prep).
So what’s new in Final Fantasy 14 Patch 7.1 Crossroads
The new update will feature Chaotic Alliance Raids. These Chaotic Raids take classic Alliance Raid bosses and turn them into full-on endgame nightmares.
The first one is the cloud of darkness. Just one boss, but trust me, it’s going to feel like more.
If you’re the kind of player who lives for the most extreme challenges, you’ll be all over the new Ultimate, “Futures Rewritten.”
It’s centered around the Eden Raids and features Ryne, so expect some high-stakes storytelling alongside the “prepare to die” level of difficulty.
Oh, and if Unreal trials are more your speed, Patch 7.1’s got you covered too. They’re bringing back the Four Lords from Stormblood, and Byakko is up first. Ready for a throwdown?
Now, let’s talk housing! it’s finally here Starting in Patch 7.1, those columns you can tweak the interior design however you want now, and Square Enix promises to add even more new styles over time.
Plus, if you’ve been hoarding gil (because we all know how that grind goes), you’ll eventually be able to expand the size of your home. It’s time to start planning that perfect mansion setup.
That’s not the only content coming, though. There’s a lot more to keep us busy.
Allied Society quests are getting some love, we’re getting the first part of Dawntrail’s Hildibrand Adventures (you know this will be hilarious), new Custom Deliveries in Shaaloani, and the Extreme Trial for Sphene.
On top of that, there are some massive changes coming to PvP jobs.
According to the devs, PvP jobs will feel completely different from their PvE counterparts.
