So after waiting for so long, It looks like we’re finally getting closer to seeing Geralt’s world come alive once again. Recently, Developers CD Projekt Red, the creators’ of The Witcher series, announced that The Witcher 4, or as it’s regarded as “the first installment in the new Witcher saga, is about to kick into full production.
That’s right, the pre-production phase is almost wrapped up!
In a recent press release, Michał Nowakowski, joint CEO of CD Projekt, confirmed that the development of The Witcher 4, codenamed Polaris, is reaching a significant milestone.
The shift from pre-production to full production indicates that the game is now in the final stages of preparation before its anticipated release.
CD Projekt’s CFO, Piotr Nielubowicz, further detailed the progress in an earnings video.
He noted that the team behind Polaris has made substantial advancements, positioning the game to move into full production soon.
While details about the new game are still shrouded in mystery, we do know a few juicy tidbits.
For example our favorite Witcher, Geralt of Rivia, will be making a return, although actor Doug Cockle has hinted that the game won’t revolve solely around him this time, perhaps Ciri will be main character or perhaps there will be new Witcher in next sage, we don’t know for sure.
In addition to The Witcher 4, CD Projekt has other exciting projects in the works too. Orion, the highly anticipated Cyberpunk 2077 sequel, is also making steady progress. And let’s not forget Sirius, the rebooted Witcher spin-off, and Hadar, the studio’s brand new and mysterious IP.
On the Cyberpunk front, we have even more to look forward to.
Following the smashing success of Netflix’s Edgerunners series, CD Projekt is planning more animation projects set in the Cyberpunk universe.
While a second season of Edgerunners might not be in the cards, we can definitely expect more exciting animated content.
The Witcher 4 is on the horizon, and CD Projekt has plenty of other thrilling projects up its sleeve.
