Larian Studios isn’t done with Baldur’s Gate 3 just yet. Sure, Patch 7 just dropped, bringing in fresh content, some solid improvements, and even built-in mod support. And all of us were speculating that after providing this update, they’d move on to another project. But the latest tweet from them says this isn’t true, at least not entirely.
The devs have a few more tricks up their sleeves, including crossplay and a photo mode that’ll let you capture all those wild moments with your crew.
They previous statement, prior to BG3 Patch 7, they had us thinking this was the “final major update,” but they quickly cleared things up. The chefs aren’t done cooking, and there’s still more content on the way, even though they’re keeping quiet about the details.
They don’t want to put extra pressure on the devs by hyping up things they’re still working on.
Fair enough, but cross play and photo mode alone are pretty exciting prospects, right?
Larian’s own Michael Douse chimed in on Twitter to reassure us that the journey isn’t over yet.
“Good news kids, it’s not the final update,” he teased. And sure, he didn’t spill any details about what’s next, but he made clear more updates are coming, even if we don’t know what they are…yet.
We’ve got hints about crossplay and photo mode, but who knows what else they’ve got tucked away?
Despite all this secrecy, there’s no denying that crossplay is a game-changer—finally linking PC and console players.
And, let’s be real, the idea of a photo mode is bound to lead to some hilarious and epic screenshots from your adventures.

Now, Larian might not be talking much about the future, but they’ve already given us some wicked new content with Patch 7, including jaw-dropping evil endings that hit you right in the feels.
Seriously, these new storylines are intense!
If you’ve been keeping up with player reactions, you’ll know these endings are not for the faint of heart.
So, while we wait to see what’s next for Baldur’s Gate 3, one thing’s for sure: Larian isn’t slowing down.
And in case you’re in the mood for more RPG goodness, they’ve even got a sale going on Steam right now.
You can pick up all of Larian’s classics—from Divine Divinity to Divinity: Original Sin 2—for a steal.
