Palworld is officially making its way to mobile! The offcial port is confirmed by the same team behind PUBG Mobile. This all comes after a licensing deal between Krafton and Pocketpair, (You know the folks who developed Palworld). The timing is wild too, given that Palworld just dropped on PlayStation 5, right in the middle of a legal battle with Nintendo.
However that wasn’t surprising given we all know that any game that’s like Pokemon but throws in some guns was bound to shake things up.
As you already know Palworld hit the scene early this year and instantly blew up on both PC and Xbox.
It’s got colorful, fun visuals that remind everyone of Pokemon, but with a twist. Instead of cozy little creature battles, you’ve got guns, survival mechanics, and a ton of chaos that any fun multiplayer should held.
The fact that it launched on Xbox’s Game Pass helped it take off like a rocket.
But as we all expected a Pokemon-inspired game with firearms was bound to grab some attention, right?
It quickly became one of Steam’s top-played games, and even though the player count has dipped, it’s still holding strong.
That’s why it landed on PS5 and now, pretty soon, on your mobile screen.
What you can expect from Mobile port?
Krafton’s team behind PUBG Mobile says they’re working hard to capture the same chaotic fun from the original and bring it to a smaller screen.
No release date has been set just yet, but Palworld fans can expect to continue their survival shenanigans on their phones soon enough.
And if you’re a fan of PUBG Mobile, you’re probably wondering, “Is this game gonna scratch that same itch?”
It might just! With the same studio behind the wheel, it could offer the same polished experience, just with more… You know, adorable creatures.
But what about the lawsuit from Nintando?
However, This exciting news drops right in the middle of a storm, and by storm, I mean a lawsuit from Nintendo.
Apparently, Nintendo’s not thrilled about how similar Palworld looks to Pokemon. The lawsuit claims that Pocketpair (the developers) have stepped on a few of Nintendo’s patents, though the Palworld devs say they’re still in the dark about what exactly they’re being accused of.
But the lawsuit isn’t stopping the devs from pushing forward. Buckley (Pocketpair’s Global Community Manager) made it clear: Palworld is moving full steam ahead, lawsuit or not.
Interestingly, Palworld is doing great on PS5—just not in Japan. And that might be a sign that Nintendo’s lawsuit.
However, you have to note down that that Japan is its second biggest player base after China, so this lawsuit definitely hurting this game and Pokepair’s reputation.
But even with all this legal battle, the mobile port’s announcement feels like a good sign that Palworld is here to stay.
