So You are playing the Black Myth: Wukong and have entered this boss, the Wandering Wight. It has a head bigger than its appetite for destruction. Think this early-game boss is going to be a piece of cake? Think again.
The Wandering Wight will be tough—insanely huge in health and relentless in attacks.
But fear not! With the correct strategy, you will turn this beastly challenge into a stepping stone for your adventure.
So if you’re Ready to put that oversized head to good use?
Let’s dive into how you can prepare for and defeat this formidable foe.
Step One – Prepare for the fight
Before you rush in, let’s make sure you’re not just going in blind:
Amass approtiate levels
Sure, you could try and face the Wight as soon as possible, but it’s going to be much smoother if you’re at least level 10 to 15.
Trust me, a few extra levels do change a lot of things, may it be on health, damage, or defense.
Boost Your Stats as well
As you level up, you’ll earn Sparks. Spend them in the Self-Advance tab to beef up your health and stamina.
Also, invest in abilities that improve your attacks and dodging.
Upgrade basic stance attacks along with the Immobilize spell to really pack a punch.
Take Red Tides Spell
However if you dont want to invest hours and hours and want to fight the Wight at the earliest then you can take down Guangzhi, a nearby boss, to snag the Red Tides Transformation Spell.
This spell will turn you into Guangzhi for a little while, letting you dodge damage and hit hard with fire—something the Wight really despises.
You can also combine this spell with previouse tips and fighting will become much easier for you.
Now, How to Defeat the Wandering Wight
Now, onto the fight!
Go to the Forest of Wolves near Black Wind Mountain.
The Wight circles a place near the entrance to the tunnel.
Sneak Up and Smash
Patrol of Wights allows a chance to sneak up from behind.
Start with a heavy Smash attack to catch them flat-footed.
While they’re still staggered from the hit, catch them with a Focus Point attack to another stagger.
Follow this up with a fast attack combo to expose them to another Focus Point strike.
Dodge and Strike
Not to mention the attacks from the Wight aren’t child’s play either—be ready for heavy stomps and sweeping spins, with an additional leap stomp that propels you to your death in a single hit.
Study his attack patterns and be ready to dodge accordingly.
In particular, his earthquake slam and palm blast are particularly vicious. If you see him charging up one of these, either dodge the distance or retreat out of range to avoid his attacks.
Spell Strategy
Use the Immobilize Spell when he’s just about to cook up a big attack.
This will hold him motionless for a bit, and you can get an opportunity to Combo him and prevent him from completing the move.
When he’s staggered, go in with some heavy strikes to keep him down.
Manage Your Stamina
Keep an eye on your stamina; if it’s running low, retreat to recharge.
Heal up, and think about your next move during those breaks.
Collect your reward
Defeating the Wandering Wight is not only about bragging rights, and in the end, there is a really special reward.
You will receive approximately 1049 XP, which is more than enough to move to the next level and gain another Spark. In addition, you will receive Cat’s Eye Beads Curio, Blood of the Iron Bull crafting material, three Yarn, and a nice boost of Will.
Oh, and don’t forget to grab the Wight’s spirit, a shining purple wisp. To use complete it at the Bamboo Grove Gourd.
