In this case, you have such a cast of characters right out of any diverse nature; and you’re in for some intriguing choices and side stories which are sure to add depth to this game.
So just Get ready for a cast of characters, each with their own peculiarities, secrets, and love interests—wink, wink.
Lace Harding: Fearless Dwarf with a Heart of Pure Gold
Oh, Lace Harding! If you loved her in Dragon Age: Inquisition, well, you are in for quite a treat.
This fearless dwarf from the Fereldan Hinterlands is back, and along with her comes the exact brand of unwavering strength and positivity that one comes to expect.
Designed originally as a guide for the Inquisition, Harding quickly proved her worth and became integral to the team.
Though she wasn’t romanceable in the game proper, anyone who flirted their way through the Trespasser DLC may have had at least a small romantic subplot with her.
Fingers crossed that The Veilguard gives her the full romance treatment! On a personal note, I do hope some really nice new dialogue and interactions come out with her.
Fun Fact: Lace Harding was inspired by characters from BioWare’s earlier games, proving that sometimes past ideas can be bled into new adventures.
What do you think? Will Lace finally find a chance to become a romance option, or will it be all about her remarkable bravery and brotherhood?
Davrin: The Elf Warden Who Fights Off Monsters with a Griffon by His Side
Introduce Davrin, the elf warrior and Grey Warden who makes his debut in The Veilguard.
Known for his legendary monster-hunting skills, Davrin isn’t only an old fighter but has by his side a griffon companion named Assan, which bodes well for some serious firepower for any team.
Specifically created for The Veilguard, the background of Davrin is not yet very well known, but this partnership with Assan leaves room for some epic battles ahead.
Davrin’s griffon sidekick is expected to make some critical contributions during battles.
Imagine dragons and darkspawn put in their place by a soaring griffon at your side.
What’s your take? Do you think that Davrin and Assan will be among the fan favorites? I look forward to how their dynamic develops.
Bellara Lutare: The Mystical Veil Jumper with a Transforming Gauntlet
Bellara Lutare is a fresh mage from the Veil Jumpers, and she carries something resembling a magical gauntlet with practical functionality.
This gauntlet can be turned into a hunting bow, so this makes her one of the most unique characters, the versatility of whom really adds to your party. Obsessed with ancient elven ruins, she brings interest into her storyline.
She is also confirmed to be a romance option. If you want a little mix of romance amidst all the adventure, Bellara might be the perfect character for you.
Fun Fact: Bellara’s Gauntlet-to-Bow really does evoke any classic fantasy gadget. It sounds like something a magician might concoct in his wildest dreams!
Exciting? Will Bellara romance subplot win you over, or is her ancient secrets and magical capabilities going to be the cherry on top?
Neve Gallus: The Investigator with a Dwarven Prosthetic Seeking Justice
Neve Gallus is a human mage with a rich background, featuring in sources like The Missing comic books and Tevinter Nights.
Setting her apart is being a private investigator for the Shadow Dragons and having a half-prosthetic leg made of Dwarven metal.
Neve’s strong sense of justice, combined with her talent for rooting out corruption, will make her a strong voice against evil.
She has a prosthetic leg, but it just about represents her resourcefulness and will to survive, pretty much.
What do you think? How are you into Neve’s role in fighting corruption? I’m really going to keep a lookout for her investigation skills.
Taash: The Dragon Hunter with a Flare for Style
Taash is a Qunari warrior of the Lords of Fortune, and for that reason, not just a dragon hunter but something of a treasure seeker, too.
She has a flare for really colorful eye-catching outfits.
Her skills, plus stylish gear, make her a striking character who will help you struggle against some of the deadliest monsters within The Veilguard.
Besides, she has been in the Lords of Fortune, and therefore, she has an affinity for finding valuable treasure.
Fun Fact: Lords of Fortune are recognizable by their bright attire, and Taash’s most definitely won’t be an exception—she’ll spice up your party with her look.
Excited? You think that dragon hunting, not to mention his dapper attire, is what will steal Taash’s show? I just can’t wait to see her in action.
Emmrich Volkarin: The Necromancer with a Skeletal Sidekick
Of all the characters available, Emmrich Volkarin is one of a kind in The Veilguard.
A necromancer of the order of Mourn Watch within the Mortalitasi, he is accompanied by a skeletal assistant named Manfred, voiced by Matthew Mercer.
The dark powers that Emmrich wields and the voice acting of Manfred form a quite unique duo that will bring an exciting new dynamic into your party.
Did you know? Manfred’s voice is done by Matthew Mercer, known for his work on Critical Role. There ya go—you get two companions in one!
What do you think? Are Emmerich and Manfred going to be the team you’re sticking with? I’m quite interested in their dark magic and in seeing how the both of them interact.
Lucanis Dellamorte: The Master Assassin with a Dark Past
Last but definitely not least, there is Lucanis Dellamorte, a master assassin from the Antivan Crows.
Majorly known for his strict upbringing and lethal prowess, Lucanis is a human rogue with so much going on in his background.
His skills in assassination and espionage are going to be incredibly useful, while his past helps to ensure some emotional depth in the story.
A background with the Antivan Crows makes Lucanis rather special in matters of stealth and strategy.
What do you think? You feel that tacking on Lucanis’s dark past will add a gripping layer to the story? Definitely, it will be interesting how his skills play out into the game plot.
