Dragon Age Fans Are Losing It Over The Veilguard’s Character Creator—And They Want It Now!

Some fans are hoping to get their hands on the Veilguard’s character creation tool before the game even launches. And honestly, who can blame them?

BioWare’s upcoming title, Dragon Age: The Veilguard, offers a character creator that featuring customizable body types, height sliders, melanin options, and dynamic lighting.

It’s designed to avoid the mistakes of its predecessor, Inquisition, where the character designs could often look… well, a little off under certain lighting.

Even tho it has some flows as folks on reddit eager to point out it certainly not going to dampen the mood of many fans who are waiting for this game from a very long time.

Just like any other RPG’ it only expected that we will also spent absurd amount of time in character creator. With the sheer variety of customization, it’s no wonder fans are practically foaming at the mouth for early access to this tool.

Some have already taken the leap and pre-ordered the game, crossing their fingers that BioWare will give in to their demands.

One eager fan summed up the hype on Reddit, writing: “I’ve already spent hours watching character creation videos on YouTube and have two Rooks somewhat designed in my head, but I NEED THAT CC EARLY. Am I dreaming, or is there a chance we could get it before launch?”

Is There Hope for an Early Release?

Well, there just might be.

Last month, at a preview event, co-director Corinne Busche addressed the fan requests for an early character creator release.

When asked about it by Outside Xbox, Busche said, “It’s a much-requested feature; we’re TBD on that, but it would be pretty stinking cool.”

While that’s not a firm yes, it’s definitely not a no.

Customizing the Inquisitor in DA Veilguard

But let’s be real for a sec—if they haven’t started planning yet, it’s probably too late since the game is already set to launch in few days.

Still, some fans are betting on it and pre-ordering in hopes that BioWare will give them a sneak peek. In case If they do not, well, they’ll be ready when the full game drops anyway.

We all know part of the fun with these character creators is seeing the downright bizarre creations players come up with.

Every RPG character creator gives birth to at least a few “Frankenstein” monstrosities, and you know there are going to be plenty of Shrek-inspired Rooks roaming around Thedas.

I’m personally counting down the days until I can bring my half-baked attempt at Geralt to life in The Veilguard—because no RPG is complete without a makeshift Geralt, am I right?

So, what’s the worst-case scenario here? Maybe BioWare sticks to the original schedule, and we have to wait until Halloween to start crafting our heroes (and nightmares). Sure, it would sting a little, but fans have been waiting for a new Dragon Age entry for years—what’s a few more weeks?

That said, if BioWare does listen to its fans and surprise us with an early release, you can bet the internet will explode with cursed creations like “Handsome Squidward.”

Personally, I can’t wait to see what nightmares the community conjures up. Maybe your neighbor’s Rook will look extremely Handsome/Gorgeous or maybe they’ll have a face that looks like it was assembled by a committee of blindfolded toddlers.

Either way, if they release Character creator before the release date, it’ll be a blast.
