How to Find & Defeat The Duskveil in Black Myth: Wukong

Ever felt like you’ve just scaled a massive mountain, only to see an even bigger one waiting for you? Yeah, that’s pretty much how Black Myth: Wukong rolls. You’ve taken down the Venom Daoist twice—good job, by the way—but the game’s not done testing your patience yet. Welcome to Chapter 4 and the mysterious Purple Cloud Mountain where the Duskveil is waiting to make your life harder.

But, hey, the reward? Totally worth it. You’ll get a Vessel that makes the final boss fight of this chapter a whole lot less painful.

How to Find The Duskveil

Head toward the last Keeper’s Shrine, Cloudnest Peak. You’ll find it close to where Daoist Mi’s hanging out with his own side quest.

last Keeper shrine

Once you’re at Cloudnest Peak, climb the stairs, and cutscene will start. The Duskveil’s here, and it’s not happy to see you.

If you decide to throw down with The Duskveil first, you’re going to miss out on two other bosses—Daoist Mi and The Scorpionlord—who drop some pretty sweet loot, like Transformations, Chest pieces, and a Gourd.

So, if you’re all about snagging every piece of gear, you might want to hit pause on the Duskveil fight and take those guys out first.

How to Beat The Duskveil

Duskveil

Let’s talk about the fight. The first phase? Honestly, it’s like a warm-up, to him and for you too.

The Duskveil mostly stomps around, throwing bones at you like it’s got something against calcium.

Don’t stress too much; just roll toward it to dodge those bone projectiles.

Oh, and be ready for its little aerial spin attack—when it leaps up and starts spinning like it’s auditioning for a Kung Fu movie, it’s about to land multiple strikes.

Once you’ve smacked it around enough, it’ll start charging at you like a freight train with legs.

No biggie, the dodge timings here are pretty generous.

After the last charge, it’ll flop onto the ground like it’s completely done with life, giving you a prime window to unleash some serious damage.

Take out that first health bar, and get ready for things to crank up a notch in the second phase.

The Duskveil’s Second Phase

The second phase is where The Duskveil decides to stop playing around.

It pulls out new attacks like a red beam projectile and bone shards that hunt you down like a heat-seeking missile.

The fun doesn’t stop there—there’s also a scream attack where it launches more bone shards.

So yeah, you’re dodging non-stop at this point.

The real killer, though, is the Bone Knife combo.

The boss yanks a weapon out of its mouth (because why wouldn’t it?) and spins around, swiping at you like it’s trying to win “Weapon Acrobatics of the Year.”

Then it leaps into the air, chucks the knife into the ground, and follows it up with an area attack.

If you’re feeling brave and have your dodging down to a science, stay close. Otherwise, get out of there fast.

And let’s not forget the red dust cloud attack

The Duskveil breathes out a nasty cloud that lingers for a few seconds. Hang out in that red haze, and you’ll be watching your health bar disappear faster than you can blink.

Do yourself a favor and back off when the cloud shows up—you won’t survive long inside it.

One last thing: sometimes, landing hits on the Duskveil’s leg can be frustrating because the hitbox is annoyingly small.

If you’re using the Chu Bai Spear, switch it up. The Kang-Jin Staff deals Thunder damage, and when you pull off the Punishing Downpour, you’ll feel like you’ve just unleashed the thunder gods themselves.

Once you’ve finally put The Duskveil down, you’ll get a cutscene and then you’ll be teleported outside the Purple Cloud Mountain.
