Still Waiting for The Elder Scrolls VI? Yeah, Me Too—And It Might Be a While

You know, it’s been more than six years since Bethesda dropped the teaser trailer for Elder Scrolls VI, and we’re still waiting for a release date. We might be waiting a whole lot longer!

If you’ve been scouring the internet for the latest gossip or wild predictions about the launch date, join the club.

But spoiler alert: there’s no release date in sight.

Ever since we got lost in the snowy mountains of Skyrim, we’ve been itching for another adventure in the world of The Elder Scrolls.

When the teaser was out in 2018, and we all thought, “This is it! The next chapter is coming soon!” Yeah, well, turns out we were dead wrong.

And if you think Bethesda’s been working hard to make this one better then its previous title Skyrim, think again.

In fact, one of their own developers threw a anvil our way, saying the game may not even live up to the vision we’ve been building up in our heads.

Ouch. But has that stopped us from day dreaming?

Just the other day, Majestic_Banana789 (honestly, one of the best Reddit usernames I’ve seen) asked if The Elder Scrolls VI would require a brand-new console to run.

And then BlackFleetCaptain dropped a dropped comment, saying, “It’s crazy how we’re about to go two full console generations without a mainline Elder Scrolls game. F**king incredible, actually.”

That’s like waiting for your grandparents to finally join TikTok—it’s never gonna happen, but you kinda keep hoping it will.

One fan mentioned they just hope to live long enough to see The Elder Scrolls VI drop—and they’re only 29!

I mean, c’mon, admit it—you’ve probably replayed Skyrim more times than you care to admit. No judgment from me, since I just spent the first four hours of my morning installing some mods for this game, myself.

However, in any case It’s a bitter pill to swallow, knowing we’ll probably be much older (and possibly grayer) when this game finally drops.

Speaking of which, the latest cryptic teaser has fans spiraling into a frenzy, trying to figure out where the game’s set.

It’s almost like a conspiracy theory at this point— Is game even in development? Nobody knows, but we’re all obsessed.

It goes without saying that we’ll keep talking about The Elder Scrolls VI until the day we’re finally adventuring in Tamriel again.

But at this point, the game’s starting to feel like Bigfoot—everyone talks about it, but who knows if we’ll ever actually see it.
