If you’ve played Baldur’s Gate 3, you already know it’s loaded with characters and storylines that are just begging for some kind of crossover.
But what Larian Studios just teased? You probably didn’t see this one coming.
We all know Baldur’s Gate 3 ruled 2023, but let’s go back to 2022 for a sec.
Another indie game with its own eldritch monstrosities grabbed players by the heartstrings and dragged them into its bizarre, rogue-like world.
Yep, I’m talking about Cult of the Lamb. Now, these two games may be as different as night and day when it comes to mechanics, but imagine how insane a crossover would be!
Over on X (formerly Twitter for us old-timers), Larian Studios teased fans with a meme showing BG3 and Cult of the Lamb shaking hands—apparently bonding over their mutual love for tentacles.
Well before continue down to this article let’s me tale that this is most likely just a fun little tease and not a real crossover in the works (atleast not yet).
But, it’s still got our imaginations running wild.
What Would a BG3 and Cult of the Lamb Crossover Even Look Like?
Sure, Baldur’s Gate 3 is all gritty fantasy, and Cult of the Lamb looks like a cutesy, dark cartoon
But what if you could recruit little cult followers based on your favorite BG3 companions?
For example I can totally see Astarion leading his own adorable (and probably creepy) cult with his usual vampire charm.
Heck, Shadowheart and Karlach would probably get into it too!
I never thought I’d want to see My precius Shadowheart as a the leader of cult, but now I can’t unsee it.
Just imageine, Astarion snarking his way through cult duties, Karlach trying to make peace with tiny followers—it’s too good!
Maybe they’d even have special traits to match their personalities from BG3. You’d have a whole squad of mini cult leaders with attitude.
Now, let’s flip it as well.
What if Baldur’s Gate 3 got some Cult of the Lamb gear? Picture Karlach wielding an axe inspired by the Lamb’s arsenal, maybe throwing in some extra eldritch flair for good measure.
Or what about slapping on the cult leader’s crown? Imagine the buffs you could get—Wisdom saves, unique Warlock spells, and who knows what else.
Farming XP with cult weapons? Yeah, she’d be OP in no time!
Is it likely to Happen?
Look, Larian Studios is winding down BG3 development, so an official crossover isn’t exactly a sure thing.
But the community’s already on it!
One genius modder is working on a project that drops Astarion, Wyll, and the rest of the crew right into Stardew Valley.
Can you even imagine Astarion working on a farm in sleepy Pelican Town?
That’s one way to spice up the crops—he’d probably charm the pants off all the NPCs.
Now, don’t get me wrong, a BG3/Cult of the Lamb crossover is still just a wild idea.
But hey, we’ve seen crazier things happening in gaming, haven’t we?
